Question: Many of our providers are asking if they can bill for a telephone or audio only visit to discuss test results with patients. This ended in May 2025, and the current guidelines do not appear to support reimbursement. I want to be certain that I am providing the correct information.
Answer: To bill any telehealth visits, the visit must be patient initiated. Solely calling to inform the patient of their test results is not billable.
