A colonoscopy was performed on a patient through a stoma, and a sigmoidoscopy was performed on the same patient on the same day. Can I bill both codes together?
Answer
Yes, per CPT instruction, both are separately billable because different entry points were accessed. No modifiers are necessary because these codes are not bundled. Make sure your doctors have two separate procedure descriptions with entry and endpoints to support both procedures.
